PR/MARKETING FUNDS COMMITTEE
At the SE Regional Meeting on May 27, 2006, in Durham, NC, a committee was established to evaluate applications for newly available PR/Marketing support dollars to regional applicants. There are three members of the committee:

The vote was approved to have $1,000 in this support fund. The region officers OK’d in advance the request for $300 from Bonnie Kissam and Osa Jackson for support for the national Physical Therapy conference this month in Orlando. (We had to give them an answer in April, and felt this was a worthy first project for us to fund. This project is what actually prompted the establishment of this fund). The new committee will be responsible for allocating the remaining $700 dollars.
The intention is to award $250-300 grants to region members who are engaged in a PR/Mktg project that is of some benefit to all members in our region, indeed in the country. The committee will put together a short statement to this effect and guidelines for applications – description of project, timeline, who to send completed application to, etc. More information about the application process will be available as it is developed.
When the guidelines are prepared, they will be published in the region newsletter, with a ‘call’ for member applications for the rest of ’06. Since these dollars are coming out of our regional checking account, as opposed to the allocation we get from the Guild, we have the ability to roll over any unused funds for ’07.
